Seagoing ships, especially hydrographic surveyships, are subjected to forces of nature of the sea, roll and pitch. All measurements-results must be constantly corrected for these forces.
Of particular importance is the exact location of the sensor according to a critical measurement-spot in or on the vessel. This could be the bridge of the ship or mast (GPS) antennas, steering / compass position or keel line.
