High quality communication solutionsFour UMTS antenna's are installed for broadband internet when the coast is nearby, in other cases satelite communications are used. A Viprinet system is responsable for transferring processing-data to the dedicated hub on shore. There are also possibilities for VOIP ,TV reception and so on. For polar conditions like in Yamal (Siberia) and Sakhalin (North Pacific) a large diameter VSAT antenna is installed and also a third randome for satelite TV reception. |
 The circumstances on sea can be very tough, so it is important that the working/living conditons for surveyors and crew are excellent. There are 2 single cabins and 8 double cabins (total 18 persons) and each cabin is provided with toilet and shower. On the GEO FOCUS each cabin has LAN en WLAN connectivity, in the mess and lounge a 37" HD TV is installed. |
